Clash of Devs
2021-05-12
On Wednesday, 28th, three of our Barcelona colleagues hosted a Meetup® Event to confront the pros and cons of the languages Angular and React. In the style of an epic rap battle or a clash of clans (depending on the reference you have), Ethan Kerdelhue sang the praises of React while Benjamin Jouanno represented the Angular team in order to convince our referee Lucas Cheminade and the participants, or at least to try to! Ethan and Benjamin have been part of the Extia España team for a couple of months and working on their favorite languages for French clients, while Lucas joined us last September for a mission on low-level development.
Even though the Meetup® Event was held with a joyful and relaxed spirit, the idea was to share with the audience an overview of what both languages can be useful for and/or preferred to compared to the other. By giving points to each round (easy to start with, trendy, scalability, etc.), our stars of the day allowed the attendees in their choice of a language depending on their knowledge and constraints. Whether it was a complete unknown territory or a decision taken a long while ago, members of the crowd discovered a new world or benefited from additional information, and took the opportunity to discuss it with Ethan, Benjamin and Lucas.
